Patient Support Resources

We have a wide variety of patient support resources, covering dementia, autism and cancer.

The resources are to aid conversations between patients, staff and relatives, alleviate distress caused by unfamiliarity of being in hospital and offer information and support to carers, families and children.

Dementia Resources

Dementia resources help to make communication easier, reduce boredem, encourage reminiscence, provide an enjoyable activity and work as an pleasurable distraction.

Autism Resources

Autism resources that contain a number of devices, tools, distractions and information to help patients cope with the experience of being in hospital.

Cancer Support

A collection of resoruces aimed at parents & carers with advanced cancer to help talk and prepare their children for the future.

Book Trolley Service

The Patient Book Trolley service is organised by our library team and is run entirely by volunteers who give out books, magazines, word searches, crosswords and sudokus, to our in-patients.

The trolley is kept well stocked by donations from our lovely staff, friends and families. If you would like to donate any books or magazines for the book trolley, please drop them off at the library in the Education Centre
